TGC is a biannual fashion festival of unparalleled scale held since August 2005 under the theme of “bringing Japan’s ‘real clothes’ to the world.”
TGC not only opens its doors to buyers, journalists, and the fashion industry, but to general consumers who are mainly fashion-conscious F1 population – women from 20 to 34 years old. A total of some 30,200 people attended the 11th TGC 2010 A/W festival last September.
This event does not only aim to be a fashion show to introduce clothes ahead of time as pieces of work, but proposes to showcase Japan’s most popular “real clothes” or fashion that can be put to daily use, reflecting the cultural background of Japan, and to do so in such a way that is entertaining. It also offers an opportunity to provide contents related to beauty, music, entertainment, and other elements that reflect the age.
TGC is unique in that it is linked with mobile e-commerce where audiences in the fashion show can purchase clothes donned by models on the runway real time
As such, TGC has become a new type of fashion show – one of the largest in Japan and an unparalleled event in the world – and is attracting attention in Japan and abroad.

Only two weeks after the excitement of "TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION in Nagoya" (which will be on Saturday, February 19, as TGC's largest show to date and the first to be held in NAGOYA DOME, a regional venue), the 12th TGC will be back in Yoyogi National Gymnasium, TGC's home venue, for the first time in 18 months on Saturday, March 5, 2011.
The theme for this TGC is "Tokyo Romantic Fever". As can be seen in the optimistic and kitsch decorative style of the 1970s, playful and feminine designs and forms are one of the features of the 2011 spring/summer trend. Tokyo Romantic Fever will cover this season's styles and the theme embodies our hope that "each woman can shine like passionate beautiful flowers in bloom."
The fashion show will consist of four stages; "trend", "elegance", "select", and "designers", and there will be other special stages including a Highlight Stage. Popular brands will come together to cover a wide range of fashion categories, showcasing all the "real clothes" of Japan. About 80 main models will be showing off the latest spring/summer items on the runway. There will also be live music by the hottest artists today, charity auctions, and special guest appearances. It will be a diverse and spectacular stage unique to TGC. There will also be new dimensions to the show, including beauty content, highly compatible with fashion, offering makeup tips for the trend.
We are also planning many other events, and are considering expanding our activities worldwide in order to send out the fashion culture and girls' culture that Japan is so proud of. We will execute a variety of projects to contribute to Japan's domestic apparel industry as well as regional economies. Don't forget to check out the TGC as we keep on juicing up.
